Card Decks: Power Thought Cards by Louise Hay, bestselling author of “You Can Heal Your Life.” – 64 affirmation cards to stay on track and find your core of inner strength. Cards are double sided. CD’s: The CDs we offer are not mass produced pop CDs that are found in major retailers and mail order services. Our CDs tend to be independent label world music CDs. The prices for these are higher because they are not mass produced. Purchasing from independent labels supports a greater diversity of artists and music, and allows creativity to flourish!
Eternal OM by Valley of the Sun. There are a lot of OM CD’s out there, but this is the best, hands down. Valley of the Sun synthesized the monks singing OM so that all the various pitches from human voices are intoning OM at the prescribed vibrations. Ideal for meditation, relaxation – but don’t listen to it while you are driving! It is THAT meditative! Wonderful CD. $20
The Essence: by Deva Premal. Our favorite Deva Premal CD, including the “Asatoma Sat Gamaya” chant often sung in classes. Transcendent vocals, keyboard, hand percussion, and the beautiful rendition of the Gayatri Mantra make this a CD worth having in your collection. Great to listen to when you awaken in the morning. $18.
Love is Space: by Deva Premal. The silky sumptuous voice of the famous Deva Premal wraps a safe haven of calm, peace and awareness around you. Beautiful CD, including her chant of “Om Mani Padme Hum”. Don’t miss it! $18.00
Music for Relaxation: Adagio by Peter Davison. This is a wonderful relaxation CD, so calming some of our students chose to listen to it during labor and childbirth! It is a delicate blend of world instruments, from Tibetan singing bowls to woodwinds, and is a skillful work. Not a generic new age-y relaxation CD, but one with musical merit, skill and evoking a profound peacefulness. $16.00 Pilgrim Heart: Krishna Das. Once you have heard Krishna Das, you will never listen to chanting the same way again. This is referred to as “India’s Greatest Hits.” His background as a Rock star, blending with his travels to India and awakening, have created his own unique style. His concerts are packed to the gills now, and his talent is respected by top musicians. Breath of the Heart is rock-pop-world-chant-blend. It features top musicians like Sting who sing with Krishna Das. Great CD - $20.00 Pilgrim Heart is a favorite with our studio staff and students. We don’t play it in class often because you can’t help but sing along with it! It is a great CD to introduce chanting to friends who think it is “weird earthy crunchy tooty fruity new agey stuff.” People with preconceived notions and assumptions get shaken out of it quickly by Krishna Das, who truly sings his reverence with joy!
Refuge: by Gabrielle Roth and the Mirrors, featuring Russian Rock Star Boris Grebenshikov. Tibetan Buddhist chants sung by Russian Star Boris’ deep resonant powerful voice resonate through your being. Beautiful composition and authentic recording of Traditional Tibetan Chants. All royalties from this album are being donated by the record company to various Tibetan Buddhist Causes. $18.00
Rhythms of the Chakras: by Glen Velez. Grammy Award-Winning percussionist/composer Glen Velez takes us on a resonant journey through each of the chakras. He uses intricate drumming and vibrations to evoke sensation and energy healing to each of the chakras. $18.
Sundari: by Gabrielle Roth and the Mirrors. This is excellent for a moderate to dynamic yoga flow (vinyasa) practice, or just listening. It is a compilation of the best recordings from some of the best world music artists, to create a rhythmic yet grounding sound throughout.
